Fabian Gottlieb Thaddeus von Bellingshausen (1778 – 1852), a Baltic German naval officer in the Imperial Russian Navy who has born in Saaremaa (Ultima Thule), Estonia, cartographer and explorer, who ultimately rose to the rank of admiral. He became a leader of circumnavigation expedition (1819 – 1821) that discovered the continent of Antarctica.
